Art @ HiltonFor exhibition, click here February 2007 An exhibition of contemporary Dutch art in the Hilton Dubai Creek Hilton Dubai Creek will host an art exhibition featuring the work of seven acclaimed artists from The Netherlands from 6 th February to 4 th March. The exhibition, which is free of charge, is partly inspired by ‘flowers’, and will be on show throughout the hotel and its restaurants. Organised by Dutch art consultants, Enterprise & Art, the showcased works include disciplines such as photography, tapestry, glass, oil on canvas, pastel on paper, silkscreen and gold leaf on wood. The featured artists are Michael Berkhemer, Barbara Broekman, Peter Bremers, Evert den Hartog, Margriet Smulders, Hennie van der Vegt and Martin van Vreden. “All of the artists are well known in The Netherlands and abroad. Their work is represented in the best corporate, as well as museum collections and is sold in renowned galleries.” said Mr Erik Hermida, Enterprise & Art. According to marketing communications manager, Hilton Dubai Creek, Ms Yvonne Luedeke, the artworks on display at the hotel are diverse, “…from the prominent use of geometric shapes in the works of Berkhemer to the monumental tapestries of Broekman and the glass sculptures by Peter Bremers, this is an impressive collection which art lovers in Dubai should not miss.” “The emphasis of the exhibition at the Hilton Dubai Creek focuses on a flower theme. It is no surprise, that many outstanding Dutch artists draw inspiration from the colourful world of flowers which surrounds them in The Netherlands.” added Yvonne. Enterprise & Art is a highly regarded Amsterdam based art consultancy founded in 1987. The company has many years of experience particularly within the cruise-line and hotel industry concerning the selection and installation of art in public spaces. Enterprise & Art is well known for the process of commissioning and producing artworks for large scale projects including securing reproduction rights, working within budget and client/artist contracts. The exhibition, which is free of charge, will be displayed primarily in the lobby area but also throughout the hotel restaurants, including Verre by Gordon Ramsay, Glasshouse Mediterranean Brasserie and Issimo. “We intend to expand our art consultancy business and enter the Dubai market.
