m/s "VOLENDAM III"
Holland America Line

On board the Volendam too a number of special art objects are placed. Wout Muller, who earlier painted an impressive ceiling for the Veendam, now makes two special fantasy model ships for the Library.

Martin van Vreden designs for the Tea Area in the Crow’s Nest a wonderful floral ceiling reproduced on foil between glass plates and featuring top lighting. In the stairwell a painting of monumental red peaches by the German artist, Karin Kneffel, is placed.

Selected for the cabins are reproductions of specially commissioned works by contemporary artists, facsimiles of maritime paintings by Pieter Mortier, and sketches of American bird-life by John James Audubon.
