"PRINSENDAM"
Holland America Line
In
a previous life, m/s Prinsendam sailed under the name Seabourn Sun for
Seabourn and before that as Royal Viking Sun. As part of the 2002 refit
of M/S "Prinsendam" to become an Holland America Line vessel,
Enterprise & Art is engaged to place new art in all refurbished locations.
The
most conspicuous works placed in the Atrium are the relief-work glass
column depicting sea otters and two curved glass panels depicting VOC
vessels, made by the Bolaé artists collective of Miami (US).
The
two enormous curved canvases depicting brightly colored tulip fields by
Ton Dubbeldam, also placed in the Atrium, are genuine eye catchers as
well. The new Deluxe cabins receive for the first time photography, in
the form of a series of tulip portraits by Jasper Wiedeman.

Testimonial

"From
the early discussions concerning the scope of the artwork for
QM2 it was quite evident that Erik Hermida and his associates
would be able to handle it to the satisfaction of Cunard and its
owner. Since then E&A have really put their heart into the
project to ensure that the highest expectations of the passengers
are met. To this end they are succeeding beautifully. Our U.S,
office also had the pleasure to work with E&A on the refurbishment
of seabourn Sun and her transformation into Prinsendam. I find
Erik and his team to be creative and always a great help during
the design process" |
