Modern Art Travels East-West
WTC- Rotterdam; Empress Place Museum, Singapore, Erasmushuis, Jakarta, 1990

In 1990, Enterprise & Art organizes the ‘Modern Art travels East- West’ exhibition in the Beurs / World Trade Center in Rotterdam and in the Empress Place Museum in Singapore. The exhibition is being organized to coincide with the City of Rotterdam’s 650-year Anniversary and the Republic of Singapore’s Celebration of 25 Years of Independence: the two cities boasting the two largest ports in the world. His Excellency Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Drs R.F.M. Lubbers, performs the exhibition’s opening ceremony in Rotterdam and His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister, Ing Teng Chong, then President of the Republic of Singapore, does the honors in Singapore. The exhibition shows Dutch and Singapore art of the 1965 – 1990 period. The works on display have been selected from the collections of eleven Dutch and seven Singapore based companies. The exhibition is on show first in Rotterdam and then in Singapore, with the Dutch component traveling on to Jakarta.
