Bugatti
Cars, furniture and sculpture by the Bugatti family

Beurs van Berlage, Amsterdam 1998

In collaboration with the Beurs van Berlage Foundation,
Enterprise & Art organizes in 1998 a magnificent exhibition of
the work by four members of the Bugatti family.

The originally Italian family enjoys worldwide fame for the
automobiles by that name designed and built by the father
Ettore and the son Jean Bugatti. But also Ettore’s father, Carlo, and his younger brother, Rembrandt, contributed to the
family’s fame.

The multi-faceted Carlo was active as furniture designer and as silversmith, Rembrandt became a legend in the world of animal sculptures. The exhibition shows highlights of the work by all four Bugatti family members. Daphne Pappers is responsible for the exhibition’s composition and catalogue.

More information about the Bugatti family is available on our special Bugatti pages, the exposition catalogue is still available in our webshop.

De Beurs van Berlage, the former stock exchange built in 1903, is
exactly the right finde- siècle ‘world exhibition’ ambiance for the
creations of the four Bugatti family members.

Testimonial
Guus Bakker,
Director Beurs van Berlage

"Onderneming & Kunst organized four substantial, successful exhibitions in the Beurs van Berlage: KunstZaken, Citroën, Coca-Cola and Bugatti. The firm’s Managing Director, Mr. Erik Hermida, proved the dominant factor in all matters. Tall, well-spoken, impossible, creative, and all business. The result was astounding. Which is not to say that other Onderneming & Kunst staff failed to contribute. Because, I tell you, when you have nothing to contribute you won’t be around Hermida for long. Which is a compliment."
